Tradition x future. Human hand x machine. A collection experimenting with CNC milling cutter technology, which mills products from a block of porcelain mass. It investigates the reaction of porcelain to pure machine processing and the substitution of a machine for a human. May machines replace traditional arts and crafts in the future?
The new expansion of the Swallow collection raises questions about the use of materials. The initially decent plastic decor has significantly increased in volume and almost engulfs the traditional ceramic vases.
Design as a game is a foosball and a collection of porcelain players-designers
– a project tailor-made directly for Designblok 2016 and its theme "sport". The players can build their own team of designer figures and try to "crush" the competition. We compare the Czech design scene to a game of foosball. Just as footballers fight for their place in the starting line-up, individual designers must also fight for their place in the limelight.
The collection tells the story of two mutually influencing materials. In its production, we combine traditional porcelain with a very widespread material of nowadays - plastic, which is in its various forms slowly covering the history and flooding the world. This is reflected in the characteristic connecting element which is the carrier of information and story. The collection is meant to raise questions about the use of materials.
Streak is a collection of porcelain luminaires and bowls that were created by combining traditional hand-crafting and decorative techniques freed from predictability and its many rules. At first glance, the hidden but subtle cobalt layer gives the luminaires a touch of historical patina. Each piece was given a unique form by pigmentation at the moment of its creation. Every piece is an original.
With simple porcelain flasks, we respond to the omnipresent Christmas kitsch with form and color minimalism. Decorations made from Carlsbad porcelain are rid of unnecessary ornaments. Their timelessness is brought by a simple relief design and a white or all-over metal-plated surface.
